What’s On the Table?

On the Table is an event organized by Waterloo Region Community Foundation (WRCF) to encourage community connection.

Between June 7th and 9th, 2024, we’re inviting people to bring together your friends, colleagues, neighbours, or people in the community over some food to talk about what matters most to you. This is an event that’s happening across Waterloo Region, where you’re in charge. Whether it’s a meal, snack, or coffee break, On the Table encourages individuals and organizations to take the time and connect with one another face-to-face.

Each host will choose their own venue, arrange for food and drink, and talk about the issues and ideas they find most interesting. The topics will be collected and shared – giving us a snapshot of what’s on people’s minds throughout Waterloo Region right now. WRCF is currently focusing our strategic efforts on supporting social infrastructure, so we hope you will find linkages to social infrastructure throughout your conversation.

What is Social Infrastructure?
We define social infrastructure as the system of organizations, spaces, and experiences that enable people to connect with each other, the bridges necessary to build trust and civic participation, to create a sense of belonging and wellbeing.
